I've been running MSE with AVG at the same time on 2 of my machines. My older Desktop seems a bit slugging at times. I traced it and found out Firefox often doesn't close down even though the browser shuts down. When you goto the task manager you can still see firefox.exe running.

I will remove AVG and just run MSE to see if it improves performance.

About 2 months ago I got that damn Microsoft XP Virus which took me 2 days to remove. I used RKILL, MSE, AVG and a few other programs including deleting it from the Registry.

After that experience, I've been a bit over paranoid about getting malware or virus attacks.
gene, from the above post I can almost guarantee that you are not rid of the infection.

Do yourself a favor, and go to the geekstogo website (forums) and ask for some help, just to make sure it is gone.

You will have to register, before you can post.

I have been a member there for years, and can assure you they can, and will solve all your problems, and give you some great advice.

DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN! Ask for help, you wont be sorry.

Once I got the script block running the problems went away. I no longer get those Samsung ads either.

We found the issue and removed it, plus blocked it from happening again. It was tough to track down but was related to our banner system and some code that got injected into certain ads.

Sorry for the pain.

PS. If everyone blocks our ads then we might as well shut down the site - just keep that in mind. That's how we are able to provide you with free content and reviews - and the forums.

No Pain, No Gain LOL

I never experienced the problem others have, but from what I read, it didn't seem too serious.

Glad you got everything worked out.:)
