madonna

Madonna - Immaculate Collection (In my defense it is fairly well recorded and a few tracks make for good demo music)

All of my rap cd's excluding Ice Cube & Snoop Dogg
i bought that cassette way back ... and i've bought the CD when i could afford it :)

except for the very 80's style of music, i like plenty of songs on it :D

i think my brother even had an LP of that album

I only have one that I'm truly embarrassed about, Oyster by Heather Nova. That girl can't sing worth a darn.

ABBA (vinyl, Cassette, CD, including imports in German, French and Spanish)
Puffy aka Puffy Ami Yumi (CD)
The Partridge Family (vinyl)

I’m not actually embarrassed about Puffy but I’ve gotten the impression that many “Audiophiles” turn their noses up at any sort of JPop so I included them.

i like my Utada Hikaru Jpop :D
I’ve heard her on “Japan a Radio” and like her but haven’t known a good CD to order. Can you recommend one even if it would be an import to the USA.

Me either Chris I am just a guy who has a bunch of famous friends. And that does not make me cool at all....being a musician well...that makes me a little cool right???:D:cool:
It does and I have proof. About 5 years ago or so, before Nancy and I got together, just a bit after getting my guitars and I was able to play a bit, I met a couple of guys who also played guitars and the one guy could sing really well. We struck a good friendship because our favorite band was LIVE.

One day they asked me to come out and play with them at this small brew house by my house. They used to local bar gigs, just the two of them doing accoustic stuff. Well, that was my first "peformance." I played a couple of LIVE tunes with them... Lightening Crashes, Selling the Drama, and Run to the Water. It went surprisingly well though I did screw up a few times. Nevertheless, after it was over and went back into the crowd, I was damn near raped by the chicks. Granted they all had their beer goggles on but still. I damn near quit my job the next day!!!!!

Believe me... you're cool.

Hm...I can think of 3...

Busy Bee- Running Thangs- Actually a friend bought it, at a dollar store, for $1. Not even sure how I ended up with it, I've never even listened to it once I gained possession... http://music.msn.com/music/album/busy-bee/running-thangs/?pkw=PI&vendor=Paid+Inclusion&OCID=iSEMPI That converse song kind of cracks me up listening to it now...:D

Ace of Base- The Sign...I bought it because of a girlfriend at the time...

Stardust Moods- I think it was free with some magazine subscription when I was in college, not sure I've ever given it a complete listen... http://www.amazon.com/Stardust-Moods-Worlds-Beautiful-Melodies/dp/B000FGS8PS

Oops, just realized the OP said stuff you still listen too....well, I am listening to Ace of Base right now, didn't want to admit that earlier tho...

... sigh. At least I was younger when I bought these:
1: Hanson Cassette tape. oh boy.
2: Spice Girls Cassette tape. boy oh boy.
3: Mariah Carey "Rainbow". Don't know what I thought there.
4: Will Smith. It's actually funny to listen to when the mood is right. :D :D

Sorry, the only two that made me cringe so far (no offense intended) were Ace of Base (big time cringing :p) and Mmboppers Hansen (at least I think it was the Mmboppers not the gawd awful twins from the eighties). Shockingly the rest I can honestly say had some 'groovable' tunes that I'm ashamed to say I actually enjoy listening to. Ohh the unbearable shame of it all, how will I ever show my face in public??:rolleyes::p:D

Easy... because when you hear it... you think about her in her school girl outfit or in that skin tight red rubber thing sportin' the moose knuckle.

Who doesn't?

Guys!

:D I just don't get why you make things so hard for yourselves! Some of the artists/groups you mentioned are outstanding musicians/performers whose music has withstood the test of time.

Barry Manilow & ABBA being two of the top performers. A whole new generation is being introduced to ABBA's music thanks to Mama Mia, and Barry continues to sell out concerts worldwide.

Why would you give a $hit about what some other guy thinks about your musical selection????

Now for the guy who bought some cd of a girl who couldn't sing a lick? You should be ashamed!;):D WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Oh Yeah, the guy who likes organ music, Make sure you get Virgil Fox's
http://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Organ-at-Carnegie-Hall/dp/B000003G9V/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1227286964&sr=8-3

In the Gigue Fugue ROCKS!

So go ahead, load up on ABBA, Barry, Frank Sinatra, Bee Gees, Neil Sedaka, Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, etc. the list is endless and ENJOY!!!!

Your significant others will most likely think you have great taste!

yettitheman;4863341: Hanson Cassette tape. oh boy. [/QUOTE said:
Peter: If you could be stranded on a desert island with any woman in the world, who would it be?
Glen Quagmire: Taylor Hanson.
Joe Swanson: Taylor Hanson is a guy.
Glen Quagmire: [Laughs] You guys are yankin' me. "Hey, let's put one over on Quagmire."
Peter: No, he's actually a guy, Quagmire.
Glen Quagmire: What? That's insane. That's impossible.
[Pause]
Glen Quagmire: Oh god. Oh my god. I've got all these magazines. Oh god.:D

Used to own this...not proud and I'm a little perplexed as to why I'm admitting this...

I see nothing listed above that can compare!

At least I unloaded it a long, long, long, long time ago.

Because even though I do it myself, if I was at a traffic light and some guy was next to me was singing: Whatcha want now tell me what you want zigga zigga zah or however that Spice Girls song goes... I'd probably piss myself laughing. I just turn it down... give a quick glance and nod politely and sing and dance in my head.

I figure if I really start to loose all sense of self respect I can claim it was a bad link.
I haven't listened to that stuff for a while but now I can't wait. :D
