This could turn out wonderful! Either way it really says the the country does not want to be as polarized as the right believes.

You think it is driven by the 'right', eh?! It is this kind of bias by both sides that polarizes sides.

And me thinks wonderful and politician (right or left) don't belong in the same thought.

I'm old enough to remember when the other group of A-holes had the Congress. I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.

I know they are all a bunch of A-holes but my views are closer to the left then the right. Carl Rove's "get out the base" crap is ruining america. He says to ignore the moderates (I include myself ) and go for the extreme right wackados. The country is not mostly made up of these extreme right religous freaks. Most of the people have veiws from both sides. The sad part imho is that the moderate republicans were the easy targets to remove some power from the extremists. If the republicans could regualte themselves they would not be in this spot. Insted they pushes bullsh!t issues like abortion and gay marrige which do not really effect the nation but "bring out the base".
Change was needed regardles of the fact they are all douche bags....:D

Dang! I knew there must have been a good use for all those flyers. Great idea. ("Save a forest. Ban campaign flyers!")

I'm hoping that the late, not-so-great Karl Marx was correct in his theory of Dialectic Materialism. Perhaps this vitriol and us vs. them crap will end with a huge surge in Independent politicians who might at least partially...actually...REPRESENT the electorate, instead of their own, bestial interests. NAW...I musta been dreamin' there for a second. Can't happen. It costs too much to get elected. All elected officials will always have someone's hand in their pocket. :(

The frist thing you have to realize is that both sides Left and Right all go to the same cocktail parties and vacation in the same places. They are both out to screw you.

I agree with you. That would be a great thing. Our country needs an up and coming third party that represents the PEOPLE'S and COUNTRY'S BEST INTERESTS to get rid of the two faced cats we have now.

Since the advent of the personal computer, nay, the touch-tone telephone even there has been no reason to need representatives at all in a truly democratic government. From "Declaring war on Estonia, press 4-26-#-B" to "Allow smoking in pre-teen maternity wards, press 7-12-^-K", everyone could easily give their opinion on any topic, and the "government" would have its purely-democratic results within hours of "opening the phones". Lobbyists would have to buy TV commercials to attempt to influence your vote.

But that would be too easy.

Ingenious!

The whole point of having a representative democracy is because it is impractical to reach the totality of the electrorate to vote on issues.

I say it is time we remove these "middleman" and start making the decisions ourselves.

Two thumbs up for direct democracy.
