Ed. Why no Onkyo AVR in recommended systems?

I am pretty new to all this but am about to make some significant purchases for a new HT and a second lower scale room. Unfortunately I do not have any places to go test these system components first. I have tried to read all I can (recommended systems, reviews, etc) and have asked many for their input/ advice. I am curious why the staff do not recommend the Onkyo AVR's in their 'recommended systems' when many feel it is a better choice?

You could get 100 responses to this. Most will tell you when it comes to Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha, HK, and a few other higher scale receivers, the only thing you need to choose is the features you want, the power you need, and the price you want to spend.

Every one of the above named receivers is a quality item that will last a long time if properly maintained, and could provide COUNTLESS hours of audio/video pleasure.

They probably didn't use an Onkyo because they thought they didn't need certain features on it and could find another name brand cheaper, or the Onkyo didn't have a feature that could be found on another brand at a similar price.

I currently have a Denon and Onkyo, had a Yamaha, and my cousin has an HK. You won't go wrong with any of them.

Just found it interesting Denon, Yamaha and Pioneer kept repeating but no sight of Onkyo. They've been around a long time, right?

You will see a flavor of the month scenerio going on around here. Right now everyone loves the Onkyo so it gets talked about a lot.

I believe the recommended systems are a little old and if they updated them, you would see Onk mentioned.

Mostly because it has fallen on my desk to update the recommended lists and I'm still in the process. Onkyo will definitely make it into a couple of systems.

I can think of no good reason why not to recommend Onkyo's products, they have good bang for buck and they have tons of features.:)
