So would I not be able to runny own separate subwoofer since DT take the LFE outputs?

Yes, you can send the LFE output to a dedicated sub. They just offer that on the DefTech for someone who doesn't have a dedicated sub. A good quality 15" sub will do far better on the LFE than the DefTechs can manage. Those would allow you to move the cross over further down the spectrum on the normal music side of the equation, but you will still want a dedicated sub or two for HT applications.
