dvi to hdmi turns my lcd negative

So I just swapped out the component cable on my SA4200HD for a DVI/HDMI cable going to my olevia 232v. I get a picture but everyone is blue and all the other colors are off as well. It kinda looks like it's a negative. I called olevia and the tech there said that it sounds like there is a problem with one of the outputs. Something about it not being backwards compatible. Any suggestions? Should I return this TV and hope that it's a problem with the unit and not with the cable box or the outputs?

Jeff,

I have a Dell/Olevia less than 18 months old, nothing but headaches. I promised myself that I will never buy any products from Dell. As I've read through the threads I see a number of persons having problems with their Olevias, maybe a bad batch. Listen I'm biased, maybe some folks around here have had good luck with their Olevias, from personal experience, I'll return it if I could. I ended getting a Samsung LCD for my home office, I'm thrilled with it.

I'm really not that dissatisfied with it, it gives a beautiful picture otherwise. I had it hooked up through component for the first few days and i wanted to try the HDMI to see how much better the picture could be. Even with the negative colors I could see that the picture was more crisp and clear. I only have the stock cablevision components on it now so i'm thinking if I order a set of bluejeans or impacts for it, it'll be as close to the HDMI as it will get. I've even read some posts and reviews that say there is barely a noticeable difference between components and hdmi.
