I have a DVD player that has some bunk component outputs but it does have a DVI output, but.... I don't have an extra DVI or HDMI input on my TV. Is there a DVI to Component adapter? I saw some on ebay but they seemed to be for computer use and didn't mention DVD or HD box conversion.

Thanks

nope, any kind of DVI to component convertor will be very expensive. You're better off just buying a new DVD player.

There are DVI-A to component converters - they are exclusively for use with computers. DVI-A is the equivalent of SVGA, it is an analog signal. DVI to component for consumer electronics applications would require an active digital to analog conversion.

Keep in mind that there is not necessarily an improvement in image quality from DVI-D to component. The native scan rate and conversion scheme in your display have a lot to do with the final image quality - under most circumstances the image quality differences between DVI and 770.3 are indistinguishable.
