DVD Upconversion through Components?

Hello,

I have a few quick questions.

1. Are there any DVD players that upconvert through component outputs? I only have one HDMI port on my HDTV and I don't want to fork out 250 bucks on a switch.

2. If there are any of these I would love a suggestion for something in the 500-600 price range?

3. Should I just wait until HD-DVD players come out and hope those will upconvert through component cables?

As of right now, component video upconversion is taboo. The DVD people think it's too easy to pirate copies of movies that way. Instead of doing the protection on the disc, they pressured the major DVD manufacturers into only upconverting on DVI/HDMI which have built-in hardware to protect the copyright.

IIRC, the last player available that upconverted over component was the Zenith (?318?). It may still be available in limited quantities and locations.
