Hey all,
Looking for a basic (i.e. cheap) DVD-Recorder to perform some backup of material off my DVR. I have a Dish DVR 522 and we recorded my wife doing a segment on the morning news. We would like to transfer this to a DVD to send to her family. I called Dish and they said I could transfer it to a VCR (which I don't own anymore - come on, its the digital age), so I'm thinking about a DVD recorder. Would just need a basic model.

Anybody have any good suggestions?

I just bought the Samsung DVD-R120 off of Ebay new for about $100. I've used it once so far for recording, very easy and good quality. It records on DVD-R and DVD-RW. It also has progressive scan output and a IEEE-1394 firewire input on the front which I used to burn home movies from digital camcorder to DVD. Good luck on your choice.
