Can anyone suggest a good quality $200 - $400 DVD-A/SACD/DVD player? I would really love one that has a 5 disc capacity.
I have been looking at the Denon 1920 and the Samsung HD950 (they are only single discs though). The Samsung has not gotten very good picture quality reviews, but I will primarily use this as an audio player since eventually Blu-Ray or HD-DVD will replace DVDs (perhaps).
Also, given the possible replacement by Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, is a DVD-A/SACD purchase even worth it at this point? I have not heard of any of the initial next generation models playing DVD-A and/or SACD, but I did notice that the Toshiba has the 5.1 analog outputs for potential playback.
Any ideas?

I'm somewhat in the same quandary as you. The two players I've looking at are the Denon you mentioned and the Yamaha DVC-6770/DVD-750. The Yamahas are 5 disk players. Pretty solid construction from what I can tell on the outside. The casing on the Denon, while it has better DACs, feels a bit cheap. Those are my current candidates. Beyond that .........

IMO, the new formats are realistically a year off for all practical purposes. I plan to wait for a decent universal player that plays both BR and HD-DVD, or till one of them just goes away and dies.

If you currently own a number of SACD or DVD-A recordings it is, again, IMO worth the investment at this time.

Any thoughts on the Toshiba SD-6980SU? It is an universal player that is $150 cheaper than the Denon 1920 and it got a pretty good review in Home Theater magazine in December.
