<font color='#000000'>I don't think the 2300 should be directly compared to the DVD-5900 as it is half the price. &nbsp;A more fair comparision would be the Yamaha 2300 and Denon 2900. &nbsp;IMO, I would give the video edge to the Yamaha and the audio edge to the Denon. &nbsp;However, both are great players that even the most critical hometheater buffs can likely live with.</font>

<font color='#000000'>the yamaha does not have a DVI output whereas the Denon does...the Denon is a much more up to date player in this world of ever-changing technology.
