DVC wired in Isobaric Clamshell

I need help, I was wondering if anyone knew how to hook up two 10" Type-S SWS-1041D (4 ohm + 4 ohm) in an isobaric clamshell so that one of the subs is 180° out of phase from the other. I would also like the overall impedance to be 4 ohms because I'm going to be using an amp rated 1000W @ 4 ohms and don’t want to be picking up the pieces of my subs if they are at 2 ohms. Any suggestions on hooking them up in series or parallel would be great. Oh and yes I am going to use it for home audio. Also the amp only has one channel infact it only has 2 wires as output.

Only 1000 watts, geez what a wus. ;)

Conducting your own personnal seismic experiments I guess, huh?

i guess you could say that. In fact 1000W was the biggest i could find otherwise i might have gone for more.

Back in the early 90s I spent two winters studying avalanche control in the Seattle area, and in the JungFrau region of Switzerland. The Swiss use a system called gasex, which is basically one of those silly alpine horns you see on cough drop commercials with a propane tank and igniter where the mouth piece would be. When ignited, a shock wave would travel across a valley and compress the snow pack on the opposite slope and either cause a controlled avalanche or not. All by remote control.

Planning something similar?

First of all, wire EACH of your woofers to have their two coils in series. This will then make an eight ohm driver.

Then, wire these two 8 ohm speakers in parallel, but out of phase, to make a resultant four ohm speaker.

You're done!

OK, now that that's settled, what the @!#% is an "isobaric clamshell"? I thought it was something Michael Jackson would sleep in. :)
