Duel sub questions?

Right now I'm running a Pioneer VSK-561-K receiver with a Klipsch Synergy KSW-10 sub but I have a chance to pick a Paradigm 200 watt sub for cheap and I have a few questions.

First, can I even run dual subs with that receiver that only has one sub output, do they make a splitter sub cable?

The other thing is I thought I saw somewhere that to get good results from dual subs they had to be the same make and model, is that true?

And lastly, I've never even heard of Paradigm, that usually means they're really good or the opposite, has anyone got an opinion on this brand of speaker?

Splitter cable is fine, run you a couple dollars.

Ideally you would like the subs to match, but if you're going to set them up properly you'll position them where they are most effective anyway. You should be fine.

Paradigm rocks.

Agreed with band, one great sub is better than two decent subs.

Paradigm has been around for many years and is a good manufacurer, however whether or not the sub is a decent one depends heavily on the model, as they have a wide range and some are very good others not so much.

To run dual subs all you would need is a RCA Y splitter which come in many different forms and should be fairly easy to find.

Yes it is a good idea to use the same sub when running two because if you are still limited by the capabilities of the lesser sub. So it depends on whether or not the two subs in question are comparable or not. How a sub responds in your room is a factor as well, and using two identical subs means you will get similar response, where with two different ones it may work to your advantage or it may create worse response.
