Dual/Single subwoofer

I'm new at this and have a question about subwoofer's from those who have the knowledge. I have a Polk DSW MicroPro 2000. My question is would it be better to have dual sub's or get ride of my DSW and purchase a
HSU VTF3MK3. My room is about 12x20, i have
RtiA5-Fronts
EtiA3-surrounds
Csia6-Center
DSW MicrPro 2000-Sub

From what I know...polk is not highly regarded. Especially when you compare with the likes of HSU. The VTF3 has the rep for being really good....and shd do well for your room size.

If you can up your budget a bit you could get dual legends...

the Rythmik servo's are pretty highly regarded here...maybe you could explore them too.

you could also explore the option of a dual subs of the likes of VTF2 MK3...Rythmik FV12, if you can afford it.

what do you intend to use it for? music...movies?

I've heard the same from other sources that polk makes a decent speaker for the cost, but falls short on subwoofers. I guess my question should have been dual DSW or single HSU or legends.(can always dd a 2nd sub later). For now i use my system about 1/3 music,1/3 DVd and 1/3 TV. The HSU and Epiks are same cost. 1st post on Audioholics. Most of my time i've spent on the polk forum. I've notice bthe Audioholics has a lot of real good info..I guess i will be shopping for a new sub and hope to pull the trigger soon.. thanks again.

Given how most people are on a limited budget, and also want to upgrade in the future, my advice for them is to buy the best single subwoofer they can afford (and waiting until they have enough for a decent one), and then they have a clear and easy and efficient upgrade path for bass in the future, by simply buying another one like it when they have the money and upgraditus. When one buys and sells off gear, one typically loses quite a bit of money, money that could have been spent on something that would cause one to have a better system in the long run.

So I say, unless you have plenty of money to blow right now (in the thousands), buy one really good subwoofer with all of the money you can spare for it (assuming, of course, that one already has good main speakers, which matter more than anything else). Then, you will have good and deep bass, and you will have an easy way to upgrade, if you wish to do so, without losing money.

Yes, but i think a VTF-15 is the way to go
