Dual "Double Decker" Subs

To be fair, though the common wisdom is to get the biggest, heaviest Sub you can, times 3, the truth is there is a tipping point with that...
Just short of lifting them, I can pretty well handle my 100# subs by myself. Step up much more, though, and wrangling another 25+ lbs becomes much more daunting (especially if you are trying to be careful and not damage them!).
You have to find a balance point that's right for you.
One guy here built a Sub in his basement which he and another friend could not get up the stairs! Large Drivers, Double thickness of MDF, extensive bracing... *gulps
Needless to say, his philosophy changed! ;)

Look nice too.

What are your philosophy on buying subs new vs used?
I've only Purchased New. I've bought Speakers Used and have had good Experiences. Had only a few Bad ones that were Corrected
