Hello
Can someone please explain the logo's on receivers if one has DTS surround in red and black and another DTS 96/24 which of the two would be the better?

The DTS 96/24 is the newer format. The receiver will still decode the older format as well. The normal DTS is encoded at 48kHz at 16 bits where the DTS 96/24 is done at 96kHz at 24 bits. The older version will also be able to decode the newer format as it just ignores the extension bits. Of course you won't benefit from the increased resolution, which will provide cleaner sound.

Thank you for your reply, in one simple sentence you were able to clarify what most of the sales persons in AV shops were unable to explain
