Also, since the source is bitstreamed (Not converted to LPCM), the receiving device is would need to run out of buffer.
Some have reported going back a bit and playing the same section again cures the problem.

There for Seamless Branching has seams :p :D

The MediaTek implementation may be within the spec for BD players at the time and the SOC may not be powerful enough to handle the expanded use of Seamless Branching, so a firmware update may not be possible. It may be possible to author the track in such a way as to be compatible with older platforms.

It would be nice if the content author would weigh in.

I see. I'm worried I ahve two bluray players if one disc acts up with one player I'll use the next player.
