Has anyone tried driving Axiom's M60s with the new Yamaha RX-V663. I have a Yammy 663 and planning on upgrading my spearkers to Axiom towers but I just want to make sure that 663 has enough juice to drive the towers.

My RX-V663 is driving my Def Tec BP8s with much ease, and they have similar sensitivity, I don't forsee you having any issues with your Axioms.

Just plug em in and rock out. Your Yammy is more than enough for these bad boys!! ;)

As everyone else is saying, you'll have no problem, the M60's are pretty efficient & 8 Ohm. Mine are being driven by an Onk 705, which certainly is no beast.

Like everyone said - it should get it done. I am looking at axioms myself and I have found their tech support to be world class. Call em and ask them as they will have a definitive answer on how well it will drive them and what limitations you may experience.

For example; when asked about the M80's in an Epic 80 system and a Denon 3808CI they indicated that I could drive myself out of the room with about half volume on the receiver and that I wouldn't want to run it over 60% or so due to overheating if I recall correctly. Before I make a purchase I will call em back to get it all again. they also helped me out with ptential speaker & sub placements.

Hey Demonster,
One reason why i am going with Axioms is the level of support and advice i have gotten from them. Even though I am not their customer yet, they have been outstanding. You see this kind of support very rarely. I just spoke to them on the phone and now I am totaly comfortable going with the M60s.

Thanks all.

Being comfortable with a purchase is very important. I can understand why you would go with Axiom.

Let me know what you think of the axioms. I am looking at the 80's as I said and I am just trying to exaust all other possiblilities before taking the plung . . . and I need butter the wife up some more she is starting to balk at our original budget for two rooms. You can send me a PM if you like.

The meters on my rarely go over 6-8 watts for really loud levels with the M80s. Very efficient. Easy to drive.

How Are the Highs?

My biggest concern after audtitioning "better" speakers is I seem to have a sensitivity to high frequencies. I auditioned the defenitives and am going to look at some revels. The Definitives to my ear were way to bright to quote others. Do those of you with axioms feel they are tamed on the high end or bright speakers?

There have been suggestions to look for speakers with rolloff on the highs but can't this be EQ'd out using the Dennon AVR3808CI?

Ill check out the Axiom FOrum - thanks.

I love my M80s, I have Outlaw monoblocks powering them. My Yamaha has an eq where I could tailor my sound a little if I wanted but I am running everything flat right now. I used to be pretty much a metalhead but since I got the speakers I have been listening to everything under the sun, they really opened my tastes in music. well... except for rap and opera :D

Very nice bilgirami! I just got my paycheck and with the extra OT I worked the last two weeks, I think I may be able to put my order in! Gotta check my cashflow when I get home from work tonight.

Larry. My grandmother offered to take me to the opera several times. I like to think I have pretty wide musical taste, but I just couldn't do it. Not even for free.
