I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did just take the time to look at the opening scene I have heard so much about.

Yes, it's brilliant film-making. I don't care what Adam Corolla says. It hooks you in right away, subtle thumping beat in the background, tension, crime, car chase... but not really a 'chase' per-se, it's a driving... subtle game of cat-and-mouse.

I will get a chance to watch the rest over the weekend. It looks like a throwback to the 'exploitation' films that Tarantino likes to lampoon in his movies. But this seems to be done with a little more of a straight face. There appear to a lot of classic muscle cars and thumping beats, I hear it's violent later on but I didn't listen much to the hype... except to hear that this movie is awfully over-hyped. Oh well, I guess I'm contributing to it.

The blu-ray looks / sounds awesome. I'm going to get some quality time with the new Oppo.

Opening scene was cool, but after the first 15-20 minutes I kind of lost interest. I don't care for the chic who was his love interest, she's really not that hot, in fact, she's sort of odd looking to me. What was the thinking behind sticking his neck out for the douche husband? Plus we only got one more chase scene for the rest of the movie.

This is one that people pretty much liked it or hated it. Reviews say it is OK, but all looks and no substance.

Ryan Gosling is growing on me...watched the Ides of March the other night, we really enjoyed that movie and he was pretty good in it!:)

I thought the opening sequence was worth the price of my ticket. I knew anything else was just going to be a bonus after that.

I don't think the movie quite lives up to the opening's promise, but yeah, I dig it.

Just finshed watching....like it, didn't love it...kinda reminded me of "A History of Violence" with Viggo Mortenson but I really like...History of Violence...:D.

Worth the rental...IMO...:)
