I'm just going to agree that this is not an 'Onkyo' issue, it is a product feature that most manufacturers do not include on their cheapest products.
If you have specific needs, then you need to buy the right product for your application, and Onkyo certainly has some receivers which offer a lot of value for the money. While I don't believe their build quality is as good as that of Denon, Yamaha, or Pioneer, they certainly tend to offer more features for the money, and if you don't go overboard, can last you for years and years.
