Either will do.

If you want further discussion, don't post in all capitals. It's hard to read and I, for one, won't bother next time.

Denon 2805 > Yamaha 1500

Denon 3805>Yamaha 2500

Yamaha 2500>Denon 2805

and I agree, lose the capital letters.

Yamaha 2500 is the better of the two. JC is correct, you are comparing apples to oranges. If the two are comparatively priced, grab up the Yamaha.

I run Boston speakers and have a Yamaha RX-V1400. I love the combination. I would get the RX-V2500 for the Auto Calibration.

As stand alone ...

Should I buy a Yammi 2500 or a Denon 3805? Why ? I know that Yammi sell for 200$ less in Canada.

Both are excellent and your question is probably the most asked question here. A little search of these forums will show you the benefits of each.

Personally, i bought the Denon. I like the option of using my subwoofer in Pure Direct mode. You can't with the Yamaha.

Not to mention the magazine and web site reviews that said the 3805 was the best piece of electronics manufactured last year. Product of the year at cnet.com and at audioholics.com.

But, either one would be an excellent choice.

I would definately highly suggest going to a local high end audio store and auditioning, and for at those prices I'd rather get seperates as recievers can't compete with rotel, nad, etc. At those prices I'd say get a cheap yamaha, with all the features you want (you'd need a htr5760 or rxv650 or better for pre-outs) on sale for $500 at future shop right now, and then buy buy a 6 or 8 channel, or two channel amp. Now that's going to cost a lot, actually you might be better off to wait for next years recievers and get a sale price, or you might be best off to buy the denon 3805 or yam 2500 and then if you want better amps or more power you could add extrnal amps to an outstanding reciever rather than be stuck with a cheap reciever which can't duel with the 2500 or 3805. If I were you I'd get the better reciever 3805 or 2500, or wait for future models which will be better, then add amps if you wish to upgrade. Anyways, it's up to you...just a few ideas. Good luck!

Multi-zone swtich

Thank's for the advises. I was thinking of buying a multi-zone switch so I would be able to listen music in background everywhere in the house. Would you recommend it and if yes what would you buy to do the job presuming that I will have a Denon 3805?

Thank's in advance

The 3805 has an enourmous transformer and plenty of reserve power. I doubt you'll ever need an extra 2 channel amp unless you are running some six foot tall electrostats. The 3805 also has zone 2 and zone 3 built in, so you're set for multiroom use. That may be your best bet for the dollar.
