Last night, I dropped my Harmony One remote on a hardwood floor. The screen itself did not crack, but it's all messed up now. It's over 90 days old. Will Logitech fix it? Fix it for a fee? Offer a discounted replacement? I'm busy today and can't really sit on the phone with them for 30 minutes, so I figured I'd go right to the experts :) Help guys!

P.S. I bought it from Dell...maybe they offer something?

If the warranty has expired, Logitech is unlikely to fix it I'm sorry to say. I think you would be better off buying a replacement. Their remotes have dropped in price and they usually can be found on sale at Costco or Best Buys.

1 year limited hardware warranty. This is one of those situations where you call them and say "It just stopped working the other day for some reason."

Maybe. Its worth a try but I suspect that they could tell that the damage has been caused by impact. If so, they may not honor it.

Call Logitech they may offer a replacement at a discount. You will need to send in your old one first and pay a set fee and they will send you one back. You will get a re-manufactured one but it may be at least 50% off. URC offers this type of replacement.

Just call Harmony but don't explain that the LCD is broken, just say it stopped working, they may or may not ask you to send it in. (I find it's 50/50 with them) anyway when they get it, they will have already generated a replace order and just send you out a new one. Trust me the guy in charge of sending you a new one just cares that you sent him the defective one and could care less why or how the LCD does not work.

I had many many issues with my Harmony 880's and they wound up sending me out three free replacements just because I said it wouldn't charge and only one time did they ask for the charging bass (not even the remote) and they sent me an entire 880 unit, So i jury rigged the non charging remote to finally charge and I would just charge it on the new unit and use in spare bedroom and when the battery would get low, I would take it to the new base and charge and reuse it. But that series of remote became so frustrating with charging, I wound up just giving away all three of my 880's and going back to the 659's (which Harmony sold me at half price for4 all three years after my warranty ended, because I was so displeased with the remotres. My 659's have worked flawlessly.

I did exactly this and they sent me a new one and didn't request that I send the old one back. Bravo! :D
