Does Speaker Wire Matter

What are some other brand options with competitive pricing. It's tough to throw down several hundred for speaker cable.

The most important aspect of speaker wire is that you use the correct gauge for the length of the run. In most cases plain old zip cord from Home Depot will perform the same as the megabuck speaker wire, but of course it is not as pretty.
