Does anyone own the Telarc 1812 Overture DVD-A or SACD?

Actually this not a gimmick, in reality it is an example of how much dynamic range the SACD format actually has and displays how much other recording are compressed so you have a consistent volume throughout the entire recording, but not the real dynamic range you would experience in person. If you have a low noise floor in your listening environment this shouldn’t be a concern, however if you like your recordings served up compressed like FM radio then this recording is not for you.
I do not understand how this recording can demonstrate the dynamic range of each medium. 16 bit PCM has a greater dynamic range than is possible for 99% of "audiophile" systems to reproduce[only a highly powered large line array or a large very efficient horn system could make full use of the dynamic range on CD, and that would be at the detriment of hearing safety and auditory pain]. However, if this particular recording of topic here contains only high amplitude dynamics at subwoofer frequencies, then one could get around the limitation by using proper electronic crossovers on the main speakers and using only sufficient subwoofer(s) to produce the SPL required.
