...when the PS3 120g. is due to be released? The main dude @ Future Shop thought it was to be in the next few weeks, yet his product inventory system did not show it at all, nor did any of the websites he visited.

Thanks in advance...

I haven't heard anything official by Sony saying there will be a 120 or 160 gig version, in fact they are making more 80 gig versions since they underestimated the demand for them. If you are in the market for a PS3, just get whichever model suits your needs best, and you can always upgrade the hard driver yourself, I hear it's not that hard. Just check out some playstation forums, or the blu ray forum for info on how to swap drives. Or you can just add an external USB hard drive.

The only for sure release I know about is the rerelease of the 80gig model, due out sometime in May or so. There is absolutely no concrete release date of any other models, 120gb or 160gb, on any websites out there. My guess is since they are already putting another model back on the market, I would anticipate late summer if not closer to holiday season for a brand new unit making it's appearance on the market. The only official announcement I have seen relating to this is the fact that Sony did say that a 120gb model was not in the works for the UK but that a 160gb model was not out of the question. This is where most of the rumors surrounding this have come from. Hope this helps.

Sony is putting out a gunmetal colored PS3 for the release of Metal Gear Solid, not sure what size HDD is has, but this is the only new PS3 I know of, but all new PS3s will be shipping with Dualshock controllers instead of the rumble free sixaxis controllers.

Thank you all...

I reckon I'll just go out & get one as Mr. Glocksrock suggests & upgrade the memory as needed. Anyone know where to find a good deal on one of these?

Best,

newegg.com is usually the best place to buy computer parts/equipment they always have excellent prices, and fast shipping. Just read the forums first to make sure you know what type/size drives the PS3 can support before you purchase.

Only thing I personally do not like about Newegg is there return policy. Make sure you read it fully before you buy anything from them. I have to agree that there prices are good.
