I have been looking at upgrading to bigger and better speakers and saw some good specs on the acoustech line and also the big America line. Please give oppinions and maybe some insight. Don't want to break the bank or get the wife mad. Lol.

Among audiophiles BIC is generally considered to be a low end brand. At least that’s always been my impression.

If you must have tower speakers, the EMP Tek R55Ti is pretty well regarded in the sub-$1000 range. If you need cheap cheap, check into the Affordable Accuracy towers. If you have a subwoofer, you'd probably be better off shopping for bookshelfs since you'll probably be crossing your mains over around 80Hz anyway. And the cost / performance ratio is often better with bookshelf speakers.

Do you have a subwoofer? What brand / model is it? What are you upgrading from? Can you describe your setup a bit, your hopes and dreams, the room you're trying to fill with sound, your budget, etc?

Dear OP, you probably should't have open new thread (this one) and ask question about BIC speaker in your previous thread, which Z kindly linked to

oh and Bigger <> Better

Thanks for the input. I was wanting to go with a quality bookshelf speaker. I am currently running energy tAke 5 classic front speakers with center. My room is approximately 20x25. I run 2 energy 8" subs with 2 rear klipsch bipolar surrounds. My budget isn't very high maybe around $100-$150 per front speaker.

You can get those same speakers for the same price with 2-day 'Prime' shipping - even from the same vendor as on evil-bay - via Amazon. Great return policy, too. At $349/pr they do exceed your $150 max/ea limit, however. If they have a bit more bass than the smaller Klipsch KB-15's I have, they'll be great speakers and, front-ported like they are, they will be easier to place, too.

The Bic America FH-65B is a similar design and available from Amazon 'Prime' at $94/ea shipped under the listing, "Bic 350Watt 6.5IN 2 Way Bookshelf". Perhaps those were the ones you wanted info on. I haven't heard them, but forty plus reviewers on Amazon averaged 4.4/5 stars, for what that is worth. As an aside, my Infinity P163's, front-ported 6.5" LF & 3/4" dome HF, are decent, too - and generally $86/ea or less. I have four of them and the KB-15's, but my 2-channel system in my 11' x 12' home office got a pair of NHT SuperOne 2.1's acoustic suspension bookshelf speakers (6.5" LF & 1" dome HF), which sound great but are much less (6db or more!) efficient. The small room makes my 50 Wpc Onkyo TX-8020 sufficient there. They are augmented by a JBL SUB 550P subwoofer. The controlled bass of the NHT's alone is great - for most music - the similarly sealed subwoofer helps. I don't know your room size or design, but with enough power - and maybe a sub - consider the NHT's ~$125-$180/ea.
