does a dead/stuck pixel remain visable even when plasma is turned off?

at the moment i have a dead pixel on my plasma tv. i notice it when the tv is switced on especially against a white or grey background, but i was wondering if it will remain visable when switched off, or will it turn off and go the other color (black) like the other millions of them do when you switch off a unit?

If it really is a dead pixel (i.e. never comes on, not just stuck on a color), it's already off, and other pixels will be too when the set is switched off. If it's stuck (i.e. won't change color), it will still turn off when the rest of the display does.

ok thanx man because at the moment i have noticed what appears like a dead pixel on my plasma. i can see it on a white background and appears black in color. The only thing is when i turn the plasma off and shine a torch where the pixel is there is a very tiny black dot that appears to be inbetween the screen and the pixels themselves (different black colour to the other pixels when the set is turned off). when i shine the torch on it i get a shadow also casting on the pixels behind it.
Does this sound like a dead pixel or is it more likey a case of dust/grime caught behind the screen?

i'm thinking it is on a different physical plane because im getting a shadow casting behind it that is forming on the pixels behind it. if it was a pixel then i wouldnt get a shaddow at all would i?
also the dot is a completely different black to the other pixels when the set is turned off.

No idea; but it may not be dirt, it may be a bit of plastic or mettle.

Got the same on a new LG 50" plasma I got last week, now I'm wondering if this is really a dead pixel or what, and what to do..
I can see the black spot even with the TV turned off, it's very weird.
