Do older "DTS" DVDs have better sound?

It is a decent DVD-A multi-disc player for ~$100.00, rarely have any problems reading any discs on it, either.

I'm pretty sure the same 'display' option you mentioned, but I didn't really pay much attention to it before... -TD

I've noticed that some movies are better in DTS and others are better in
DD. I think it just depends on the sound engineers ability and the listeners preferences. Some movies I liked in DD my old roomate prefered in DTS and vice versa. I do think that lately both have been pretty equal quality mixes on many dvd's coming out.
