Quad had a good post in this thread that deserves preservation:

Jeesus.... I've been a member since 2002, had well over 6K posts and now have a whopping 177? I guess all of the hard work I did on the food and wine club thread must have been somehow dangerous to the new business model? Can't have folks looking up a recipe or two now can we? Or what about all of those home improvement threads where I helped folks with their roofing, windows or HVAC problems? Damnation those were dangerous now huh? Jeepers, creepers.... all of those threads about my family's spur of the moment road trips, visiting forum friends all across the mid west and chronicling our journey's, I'm certain THOSE were a threat to the "new image" of this place.

I'm saddened.... saddened beyond belief. I was such a loyal, staunch supporter of this company and forum for the last ten years. I've watched many, MANY friends ask for their entire accounts to be deleted, I've seen many more permanently banned over sillyness. I understand the need to keep the legal stuff off the forum and out of the spot light.... but to totally wipe out years and YEARS of history.... GOOD history.... for what?

I don't suppose any explanations will be offered up. I mean, I didn't even rate an email with a cursory pre-emptive: "Hey john.... we feel it important to clean up and purge the forum of a lot of stuff so you will see a lot of your posts removed. Not that you were a trouble maker or anything - far from it - but we just feel it's in the best interest of the company moving forward."

I guess the lack of any kind of prior notification or heads up shows that I am indeed, pretty insignificant and not important around here, I can live with that I guess. There are others who have been treated far, FAR worse.

I suppose I should be grateful that my account hasn't been deleted. Maybe that's how I'm supposed to feel.

I'd better stop. But I just can't stop shaking my head.
By the way, I still have 31 posts on my (still banned) account.

Aren't you the lucky one. :D

My 700+ post account has been completely wiped. I don't see Harry Balzac's account either.

I just looked at my account. The only posts I have left are in the Classifieds. Not that I was a special poster or anything, but all those posts gone....just wow.

When I say my account has been wiped, I mean my username is wiped. LOL! :p

My non existent account is still banned. I just tried logging in, this pops up:

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I don't care, I just want my MFW-15 replacement amp. Forum is back up, with new product sticky's, but they won't honor a 4 year warranty or build out pre pays.

The only way to see a banned account is if it has some posts that you can search for - mine, like yours, is gone from the members list. So unless you posted in the classifieds or the pictures thread, your post history got wiped away completely and any hint that your account ever existed is gone...

I just went to check my sign in and I am still in the same sarcastic Siberia they left me in. I am thinking about putting the picture on a t-shirt and wear it as a badge of honor.

To answer their sarcastic question, no, I really don't know why I was banned. I may be stupid, but I really don't understand how somebody who is living a pretty decent life can steal the very few moments of comfort from sick and dying people. I guess I was banned for not respecting Mark's right to do that. If I am wrong, please feel free to email me Kyle. I promise I didn't ban you from my email inbox for proactively defending your jet setting friend who screws over orphans and "friends" and casually calls it underfunding. Or better yet, come here and tell us why all of us were banned. Or do we have too small of minds for a heavyweight think tank like AV123 who just erased every positive post that was left about them? Seriously, that was the ID equivalent of severing your head to get rid of your headache. Nice work.

Because you're one of the people who Mark knows is out to hurt him. He knows who all the people are and in due course, he'll have people far more powerful than he have their say. Right now he's working on a plan and we've only seen part of it. He's selling off stuff in his house (actually, the bank's house), dumping his beloved watches on craigslist, and even one of the cars he has. Now, if people like Tess would just stop bothering him about an amp, he could launch his made in the USA line of speakers, eat PB&J sandwiches, and oh so quickly get the money he needs to make everyone whole again. Why can't you be more like mfig, Jed? He knows the measure of MLS's character and he's up in Canada.

The first post from....

TADG errrrr Mark said:
These are all very good ideas and we'd like to offer product in these price categories again.

We will not be able to do so with the "Made in the USA" tag as cabinets here are much more expensive to build. It's not the material cost, it's simply labor. Not to beat a dead horse but labor is a major cost in any Bill of Materials.

That said, look for GR Research to have a good solution soon for those that don't mind doing some assembly themselves, and like the sound of the x-series products. I know Danny is working hard on something now with our complete support.

BTW, we have found that using asphalt works real well for cabinet wall dampening, and it's relatively easy to use.

TADG - Mark
I bet you miss that ol` sweatshop labor in South America and China. You forgot to mention that asphalt is really cheap and thats why you are using it over other alternatives.

Not sure what is worse, the forum re-opening or the Quadman acting all shocked and hurt because they didn't really care about him. Come on John, you can't still be playing those cards. mls conned everyone and cared about no one. You know that. You have known it for a while.

John, sorry to post here; I know you can't respond. But I can't post on av123 or that other place. Matt, any chance to unban Quad? A recipe thread would be nice here...
Plenty of websites have recipes, putting up with Quad wouldn't be worth it.

What he really meant to say:
That said, look for GR Research to have a good solution soon for those that don't mind doing some assembly themselves and like the sound of the x-series products (when working as designed if you were lucky and a got a pair), or for those who would prefer not to get the filth of VA321 on their hands. I know Danny is working hard on something now with our complete support (excluding of course financial support since we owe him and others piles of money and we're just not going to pay them because I still need the money more).

BTW, we have found that using asphalt works real well for cabinet wall dampening, and it's relatively easy to use and I'll be darned if it isn't cheap as heck too. Of course in the summer your speakers will smell like an asphalt crew has set up shop in your listening room, but hey you can't have it all.

All the best!

Humbly for sure with hugs,
TADG

Maybe the G2 stands for the area in the parking garage where they "borrowed" the asphalt from.

Wait until TADG learns that he can't ship his "Made in the USA" goods to California because it's against the law to sell products labeled as "Made in the USA" if they contain any parts that aren't made in the USA. ;)

Considering the status of the LS-4 and the photochopped G2 drawings, I will be very shocked if Schifter ever produces anything "Made in the USA" outside of license plates.

Does anyone understand Danny Richie's ongoing "relationship" with av123?

It seems our collective wisdom has concluded that Danny is owed money (reasonable assumption) and that he is trying to collect that money. I'm not putting things together though on how still designing speakers for av123 helps him? Presumably his designs are good and therefore they will sell a bunch of speakers and pay him from the profits. So he is doing more work without pay, betting that there will be a payoff? Seems like good money (or time) after bad, and I really don't think he appreciates the negative perception that many folks might get from his continued linkage with av123. And even if they do somehow sell a bunch of speakers, does anyone think Danny will be at the front of the line when checks are cut?

Heck, 99% of all those posts were extremely positive for a new person to read. The fact that they erased that whole "family" vibe built over years and years is idiotic.
+1 -- there were a lot of very useful threads over there..

I have reposted the UFW-10 plate amp replacement information over there..

Someone else was asking about 750's, I pointed them to Skiing Ninja's site if they wanted to upgrade their XO..

There is also someone looking for some now-lost RSS-300 rewiring information. I thought I had it but not on my home computer at least. And just realized that I drove home today from visiting my 2-week old niece and left my work laptop at their house (4 hrs away) ... guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow... :(

Off topic, but... So then NO electronics manufacturer is allowed to sell product with a "Made in the USA" sticker in California? That's really stupid. Last time I checkecd, there were VERY few R, L, C, and IC manufacturer's in the USA... Surely there's a percentage of foriegn material that you can be under and still be allowed to use the sticker.. yes?

I don't think there is an ongoing "relationship" outside of TADG / MLS continuing to use Danny's name. I think it's all smoke and mirrors from the master of spin.

In the past people have asked Danny (on other forums) about these new products that he's supposed designing and he responded that he hasn't heard them yet, but they could be good. I don't see how you could interpret that any way other than he's not really working on them. It also seems that Danny has pulled the LS's from VA321.
Danny said:
I was allowing AV123 to sell them as fully assembled pairs, and you can see info on their web site from the link above. AV123 sold them for $4,400 apair for LS-6's and $6,000 a pair for LS-9's.

Nope. Ask Tony Maglica about it. He can't sell Maglites marked as Made in the USA in California because one of the rubber o-rings and the bulb are made outside the US (and no US source exists). link
