Do I need to add an amplifier?

I think mounting that left speaker would be the issue, as that is a hallway to the garage and a bathroom. It would have to be much higher then the right side, unless if i mount that one as well.

If i did go the route, putting shelf speakers on the shelf above the tv, that still would be better than what i have now, I'd assume.

Im a kittle confused. You can't put the Left speaker just above the thermostat?

above the thermostat...the speaker would come off the wall and be hit by people. Unless i go as high as the current speaker is at...perhaps i was thinking to literally and trying to maintain the same height as the right.

If you can lower them that would be Great. If you could raise the TV that would be Great. If you could put the Center Channel under TV that would be Great. If you could Purchase speakers like I Linked that would be Awesome.

If you need to mount speakers were they currently are. At least get Bookshelf speakers instead of those Satellite speakers. The rest is up to you

Well you do have options that will fit in with your SO requirements.
Were it me I'd look into in wall speakers for the fronts, lowering them a bit. I'd wall mount the TV to move it up some for a better, imo, viewing angle and place the center on the credenza.
I'd to these things before spending money on an amp that imo won't help. Your speakers will be driven by the avr easily and will free up more money for better speakers that will improve the audio on their own.
Unfortunately, imo, this wall is not a well thought out plan. The fireplace is placed poorly and seems just jammed in to say there is a fireplace. But you do have options.

Take your time, check out options for speakers, etc.
If you do/are able to go with inwall speakers you can paint the grills to match the wall color further "hiding" them in the room without lowering audio quality. A win for everyone.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Yes...never thought of book shelf speakers and hanging them (not sure why I didn't think of it) so, that is what will be in my future. And thanks to all for that suggestion. But I just spent some big money on the 2 subs, so i have to let some time pass before another HT item purchase.

Agree on the wall/fireplace. Re-arranging that wall would be a big project...not that is what your suggesting, just agreeing that the room is not optimal.

Again, thanks all for your input...glad I joined the forum!
