CHEAP cables matter.
Inexpensive quality cables do not.
CCA is cheap, it has different electrical and physical properties compared to quality cables. I think it has pretty much been covered up above, but in reality, if you are on a ten foot run of 14 gauge cabling, then you really are unlikely to hear a difference between what you picked up and copper.
I have used CCA a couple of times and it has been terrible, mostly due to the flexibility of the wiring. It breaks incredibly easily. So, I stick with copper all the time now. Yes, it's more expensive, but not crazy expensive, and it's certainly worth spending a bit more for that long term quality. I still look for inexpensive deals, but I do my best to avoid 'cheap' no matter what.
