Do 2 subs play lower than one?

It's not in room, but it is two vs. one.
The slope of the curves is the same, so there is no LF extension, but spl is increased exactly 6db, since the subs are side by side. So that is what I predicted.

Yes there is.

The slope is the same but the magnitude is higher at a lower frequency with two, meaning your usable low frequency extension is actually deeper.

Because the scale is logarithmic, as the subwoofers go deeper the increase in magnitude will approach zero and eventually become negligible, but especially where those subwoofers cut off there is a significant gain in usable extension.

The problem is there is no power against spl graph. The issue is that the spl for a given power is also raised above cut off, so to maintain balance you have to reduce average spl to maintain balance and loose your advantage. The only way to make use of the extension you describe is with an equalizer, and that means the option is only available for a sealed unit.

So the answer to the OP's question in laymans term is only if the subs are sealed and you use an EQ will you be able to effectively lower the F3 response?.

That is correct.
