DIY sub question - wiring

OK, I'm building an Infinity Kappa 12.1 sub and I'm wondering what gauge of wire I need to run from the speaker to the terminal plate, and to my power amp. The amp is going to be maybe 2 - 3 feet from the sub.

That entirely depends upon how much power will be run to the sub (at that distance). Ideally 12 ga. should be used for this type of application, as it will allow for most any power level the sub can safely handle.

Nah, I was looking at DIY options and I found a used perfect 12.1 on ebay for $60.
