Direct TV

I just moved and they have not FIOS here so I got Direct TV. Am I missing something? Nothing comes in as 5.1. Picture is fine but everything is 2 channel (Pro Logic). ???

Have do you have the audio hooked up? If you connected HDMI from the satellite receiver to your TV, then have audio running from your TV to your receiver, then that might be the cause.

Also, you might need to change a setting in the menus on the satellite receiver to have it output in 5.1.

That was it. The default is DD off. You have to turn it on. Thanks again.

I have FIOS and really like the HD A/V but not the price for renting the HD boxs, a bit of a rip off. As you now have had both do think Direct TV has as good of a picture? And what about DD 5.1 seperation? The FIOS as you know is Great at both.
