Im trying to find a TV.
My sony kp-57hw40 has been declared unfixable, the first time a extended warrenty paid off.

I spent some time on the web, its been a while since i looked at TV's. so a lot of it was confusing. I walked around the showroom at circuit city, but nothing really jumped out at me. I was suprised at how poorly a lot of the TVs were set up, it seemed only the 5 to 10k TV's were getting any respect.
I saw a panasonic 42 inch plasma EDTV model TH-42pd25u which seemed it might be the thing to do. but at 3k im not sure its really a good bang for buck. it also has a 500 dollar price tag on the Ext service plan. so 3500.
The main things im looking for are
40 inchs or larger, the seating is 10 to 12 feet. light is pretty controllable when i watch a dvd, but theres a bit of sun in the day when cable is on.
able to connect, tune, and watch standard cable signal.
watch DvDs, I prefer full screen over widescreen when i get the choice, the bars just bother me for some reason.
a smaller foot print and or hanging from the wall would be a big bonus.
If anyone has been in circuit city lately and has some insight on my dilema i would certainly appreciate the information.
