Difference in Mitsubishi 731 and 831 series? SD quality?

Can someone explain the difference in the features of the Mitsi WD57731 & WD57831?

I am replacing my old Pioneer and so far have been very impressed with the 731 and also the Samsung HLS5687W which technically has a much higher contrast than the Mitsi. I honestly cannot tell the difference.


I am also interested in which might have a better SD picture as my HD channels will be limited?

I would consider the 731 due to the price difference. If within a couple hundred dollars get the 831. It is there flagship model and has newer brighter bulb.

The option I can't wait to see is the new LCD light based Samsungs. The 2006 model was decent but it sounds like the 2007 models have some nice improvements. If you can wait a few months it may be worth it.
