Did I just lose $1000?

No. I didn't really. Apple Records announced yesterday that the Fab's much coveted, vinyl, all analog, never digital 2014 Mono Box Set is being re-issued for $545. No one saw that coming. I have an original set that I paid $265 for about 10 years ago. The re-sale value of a set before yesterday is $1500+. So now mine would be worth much less of course. Pretty exciting though for folks who have been pining for this for years. https://www.theglassonionbeatlesjournal.com/2025/05/beatles-in-mono-14-lp-vinyl-box.html

Reminds me of the Halloween III score that was $100+ till they re-released it. I got the new one for around $25.

Same thing happened with the Jethro Tull book box sets when they released another batch of some of the sets recently.

Seriously, I have no life.
A lesson in collectables. ;)
Bought a gemstone many years ago to broaden investment portfolio. I should have invested in a Certificate of Deposit. Would be 7x today.
Friend of wife bought a Prowler brand new for good $$$$. Barely used. Husband died, now she has to offload it. Lucky if she can get original price if not way less if anyone is interested in the first place.

Btw, I have no interest in the Beatles 2009 Stereo Box Set on vinyl. That entire set is from digital remastering, so what you basically get are CD's on vinyl. Instead, I sought out the best possible stereo pressings that I could find or afford of each LP from around the world. (not USA releases. Although I do have some, I have limited interest in USA Beatles LP's). Most all are German pressings from the 70's. Parlogram's videos were super helpful in helping me understand what to seek out to create my own stereo "box set".

When the SACD of DSoTM went out of print, they shot up to $150. Then they reissued it and it was selling for as low as $15. Looks like is is ~$35 currently.

More important as to what it is worth to you now than to what it might be to your heirs.

I thought I made a post... Apparently, I missed the Post Reply button before leaving the page. Oh well.

You may be thinking of it wrong. If it's a limited reissue (I'm too lazy to google it), it may pique interest in Beatle vinyl and memorabilia and drive the price of your set up after the reissues are all sold. On the same token I'm sure the renewed interest will drive up the price of '60s originals,

Right. It's a little vague what the re-issue is all about. Could be very limited run and only available at Beatles dot com.

I heard that at least the USA link for the mono box was sold out in a very short period of time when it active yesterday. I heard as soon as 1 hour. Could be that they found a pallet of originals and it's not really in print again. Or it could've been a test run to get an idea how many they need to press.
