Here's a nice little read on Bose.

Here's an eBay store for Harman Kardon refurbs.

Near as I can tell, the auction prices are rarely beat and the warranty is full factory.

If you use the search feature, you'll get a much wider view of opinions from multiple posters and you'll get to see who's good for what around here. Not that anything posted in this thread needs correcting, but you'll get to see that a whole mess of people actually agree on the opinions posted here.

Here's another link to some other good places to shop on line.

I know exactly where that is, you must have went to the Circuit City over on Faulkenberg Road. I haven't been in there in ages, last time I did I left disgusted at the lack of knowledgeable/helpful staff. Thank god for this forum, right?

A couple of hundred bucks per speaker is not a bad price for decent quality. Polk doesn't exactly sit at the top of the heap as far as high-end audio performance is concerned, but they're not bad speakers in their own right, and plenty of people like them.

$389 for that receiver is a very good deal.

Well to tell you the truth i would rather buy something more high end than the polk.
Any suggestions?
I want a nice piece cause i know i wont have to buy anything for a while.
I would rather get a nice piece and enjoy it than getting something lower end and then later on wanting something better.
I heard the polks and was very impressed with them so...
But i dont want to have to get another center channel if at all possible.
But will if needed.
Cause i can always sell the one i have now.

My gf/soon to be wife doesnt understand my obsesion with speakers and home/car audio.... I am hopin to help her see the light one day.
I have had this obeseion for many years now.
Have had numerious systems in my vehicles and have had a home theater for about 5 yrs but it was just really an out of box kenwood set up.
So i am looking to make a nice set up.
Tho i am selling the system that i have in my truck due to having a baby in a few months and needing the space in the extend cab for a stroller/baby stuff.

So if anyone is interested i have a 12" total mobil audio sub in a slotted ported box and 2 rockford fosgate amps both 2 channel one if a 500 watt and the other is a 400 watt for sale.

WOW, I must say after reading the write up on bose.
I am glad i bought the klipsch ipod dock! And for 150 for the klipsch compared to 270 for bose version.....
Also found it interesting how bose wont let a side by side comparison.
Same as with the ipod dock. when i went to buy the dock i brought my ipod to check all the docking stations and compare... But bose had this nice bar over theirs so you couldnt put your ipod in it, and for the price i couldnt buy the bose version cause i couldnt justify the price difference between is and the klipsch.
Pretty sad that bose is so low end and costs so much.
I guess you have to pay for all the maketing!
