It sounds like it has an internal problem. I would try up to three resets and see if that solves it. it is only five years old and that is the age my AV 7705 failed. The service center said the two board it needed were NLA, which is a disgrace, so it went to the recycling center, and its replacement 7706 gave trouble after 3 months, so it is back for warranty repair. However, I have bought and AV 10 and I am very pleased with it. It has a much better build quality. On the whole the build quality of these AVRs and AVPs is in general is not very good in my opinion.
Let is know what happens. If you can't get it working try and send it in for repair and document the response from a Denon authorized service center.
