Denon won't Power Subwoofer

Denon AVR-684: It won't power my subwoofer. I plugged it into my Yamaha and it turns on fine. I can turn the volume up almost full blast and it still dosen't turn on from stand-by.
It there something in the receiver menu that I missed?

Prhaps, but that's kinda hard for us to say without knowing what you did and what the unit requires.

You might want to re-read the manual carefully. Denon manuals can be a bit oblique.

You need to determine the signal type- Main, LFE or both. Also, you need to set the crossover frequency in Manual Setup, Speaker Setup.
