Denon sound is too pitchy, fix?

Seriously, I have no life.
Not in the power amp,

SymAudio, Bryston, NAD, Anthem can all 2 ohms. I'm sure there's a few more to throw on that pile.
You mean they are rated into 2 ohms continuous or just in dynamic mode, short bursts.

The Behringer EP2500 would be perfect to power the Infinitys. It'll drive 2 ohm loads all day.:D Using the preouts on the Denon AVR-3808CI you can use the EP2500 to power them and it should never shut down.:D Best part is, the EP2500 is very inexpensive for a very powerful and rugid power amplifier. The downside is, it has a noisy fan and it's not pretty to look at (it looks beautiful on the inside, and that's what counts.:D). The noisy fan can be replaced for less than $20 with a wisper quiet fan.

PM WmAx for details concerning the fan replacement.:)

Modern AV receivers like these include an equalizer. If you prefer a darker sound, just cut the high frequencies. You can have it any way you prefer.
If you can adjust the speakers with an equalizer, then why are you guys picking on the thread orginators Onkyo's?

He said he didn't know how to use the eg and refused to even consider that as an option.

And, as another said, that would be like polishing a turd. Eq's can do decent touch-up work but they can't work miracles.

Backup Plan

In the event that my new AVR 3808ci has a hard time pushing my Infinity RS6 Kappa mains (rated 4-6 ohms) Do you guys think it would be a good idea to use the 3808ci as a preamp for the fronts and get a separate 2 channel amp ? Or maybe use it as a pre-amp for all, and get a multi-channel power amp? If so, what models could you suggest?

WarpDrv mentioned in a post that I look at the Onkyo PR-SC885P Preamp and the Emotiva XPA-5....this looks like a sweet setup, but the Onkyo doesn't have some of the Ethernet streaming capabilities I like.

Would the XPA-5 with the Denon make sense, or is that overkill, Maybe Emotiva makes a good 2 channel amp? If I add a separate amp, I'd like to keep it under $700

Advice is appreciated.

Emotiva is about to release a new 2 channel amplifier that would work great for your application and falls into that price range. If you can't wait, I would take a serious look at the Behringer EP2500. Is it pretty? No, but it's rugged. It's very overbuilt and has tons of power. It will sound every bit as good as any other amplifier out there at a much lower price.:)
