Denon settings

hey guys
just wondering if you would be able to help me out here
i have the denon avr-789 running klipsch f1s, c1 and s1s i ran the audysey setup and have the correct distances (very close to perfect) from speaker to listening position but i cant say i know much about the hz?
it has set my fronts to large at 40hz centre to small at 80hz and surrounds to small at 90hz and the LFE just says 0.DB does this sound correct ??
please help any would be appreciated i would really like to get the best out of this system but its not possible if i dont know what everything means

Ok well you need to manually override your mains and set them to small. The F-1's are just not capable of reproducing really low frequencies and since you have a really capable sub let it do the low frequency work. I suggest in your case to just revert to the THX standard and set all your speakers to small and cross them at 80hz. The synergy line sounded best IMO when crossed this way with the sub-10.

But look through that audyssey thread that paradigmdawg advised. It can be VERY useful. When i owned my Denon 2809ci it was a great reference when i questioned something that audyssey did. With my receiver audyssey set the bass extremely hot, so i had to tone that down a bit by lowering the db's on the sub in the Denon's settings.

You should also really use a tripod to place the microphone on when you use audyssey. Make sure its ear level and in your exact seating position.

and also thanks red i set my speakers to small and and crossed all of them at 80hz
what should i have the sub set on (gain, lowpass hz, and theres two switches one has the option 180 or phase and the pother has the option auto or on can i please get some advice what to have all this set on for best results

Start with the gain at about 1/3 volume and go from there, your goal is to get it where the Audessy sets the sub level somewhere around 0-3. You may have to run Audessy several times which would be a hassle, using a SPL meter is much easier for this.

The crossover on the sub should be disabled or set as high as it will go as you are using the one from the AVR.

Phase is either "in phase" (o) or "out of phase" (180) I have never seen "auto" but give it a try. Once again, see which sounds better but set it before you run Audessy. A SPL meter is also useful for this, set it where you get the most bass.
