Denon Refurb vs Reconditioned

Sone of Denon's Authorized E-Tailers offer 2 different types of certified by Denon used units (w/warranty).

In the case of the 3805 they all seem to be reconditioned where as previous gen models such as the 3803 are listed as refurbished. How used could a 3805 have been that it needed to be reconditioned, it has been out only a short time

For $500 of MSRP on the surface it seems like a reconditioned 3805 is a deal or is there something off tilt with these models ?

I beleive the term reconditioned means factory brand new with a defect that it doesn't pay for the manufacturer to retrieve it, but it makes a deal with the buyer and the buyer in turn has it repaired and sells it as reconditioned with a full manufacturer warranty.

Refurbished I beleive it means that the unit has been used either as a floor display sample or a demo piece, and it has been repaired and shined to factory specifications with a full manufacturer warranty as well.

As to which model to choose , it's a matter of features, price and preference.
To my eyes both units are good performers.
