Denon DVD 2900 doesn't read Redbook CDs

Anyone knows why Denon DVD 2900 doesn't read redbook CDs and the CD layer on SACD. It plays SACD and DVD pretty well. If I try 10 times, maybe one time or two it will play redbook CDs. Is it something to do with the life of the laser pickup head?

If it's basically all CDs, then I would say it is definitely a problem with the player. Might it still be under warranty? Never heard of this particular issue.
