I have one of these units and it works great. Yes you can record from any source analogue or digital. It makes perfect copies of other CDs in normal or high speed. This unit also has several modes to use while recording to make it easy to copy individual songs or groups of songs from the original CD for compilations. I have had mine for about 7 years and use it several times a week. It has held up without any issue and has become my main CD player. I hope that helps with your decision.
