I assume there's some rule stretching in any competitive organized sport....the way footballs are handled and the rule changes last coupla years have been interesting.

Another video stated they found hand signals being stolen by NE vs Pitt in the 2001 AFC final. I've wondered if there were more than the 8 video tapes discovered by Goodell and the league and they destroyed them cause NE was pulling in the ratings and merch. It isn't a matter of were they doing this but the degree to which it benfited them. I remember 10-15 years ago a local reporter noticing that Belichick would not report players on IR before a game. If my memory is correct the guy who recorded the Rams walk through during the '02 SB was legally bound to not speak out, which suggests to me closing down whatever happened.

Ah the radio transmission with the head sets at Foxborough. That one I let go cause I'd thought it was a silly conspiracy till the one guy said in all his years he'd never had a headset problem till then. Or the six teams who complained all at NE. Mike Tomlin complained about it.

I think the shame is it leaves an asterisk to their legacy. 40 games were claimed to have been recorded. A whole "library" of signals LOL. He does a good job of explaining audibles and tendencies and decoding etc.

This one goes into detail Ernie Adams' role in the organization. This was going on as early as the Cleveland days.

It wouldn't surprise me if the NFL knew about NE for some time and once Mangini spoke out publicly on it then the league did something, like bury it LOL. It doesn't sound like Goodell viewed the tapes but had them erased. It wouldn't be surprising if it were more than 8 tapes but NE destroyed many beforehand. Sure, other teams may have been recording signals too, but it's the degree to which NE did it I'm concerned.
