the switched outlet on my receiver doesn't turn off unless i turn off the master power switch.

i used to have this in another system and i could swear the switched outlets would turn off with the receiver just set to standby.

i don't see anything i could switch on the menu or manual ... help?

Hi, Mike. Do you have Zone 2 active now, but not in your previous set-up? That's the only thing that I could see that might make you use the master power switch to turn off the outlets.

i will check my zone 2 setting. but to be clear, i want the switched outlet to turn off when i put the receiver on standby.

but thanks for the idea, hoping that's what's messing with it.
i put pc fans on the receiver that's why i need them to turn off when i turn off the receiver.

Understood. I was thinking that if Zone 2 was active, then the standby switch might not power down the AC outlets. Just a thought.

i've discovered something new ... when i switch the receiver to standby, the video section keeps on going. iirc, no signal should pass through if the receiver is on standby. (no i don't have the source direct to the display, it passes through the receiver)

i guess this is related to the switched outlet not switching off along with the video section.

If I understand correctly, whatever input you're currently feeding to the receiver is still fed to the viewing source? If so, Denon wa swise in that you don't have to have the receiver on in order to watch whatever is is you're watching.

got it fixed!

found it on the manual troubleshooting section ...
apparently, HDMI's CEC function was operating. i should have set the HDMI control to "off".

yes mark, you can specifically set the receiver to let HDMI picture pass through by setting the above to "on" (but i don't know if you'll have sound [i don't know if it's simultaneous] since there's another option to choose to output sound through the receiver or TV)

but in my case, i will never use the TV without the receiver, and i need the receiver to shutoff the switchers i plugged into the switched outlet via remote.
