As often as I switched sound modes in the middle of playback with my Denon receivers, I never once used the Quick Select feature. It stores settings for a quick recall of them for a given input source.
The X6700H features Quick Select as well as separate 2CH Playback settings for playback of two channel signals in Direct or Stereo mode.
So, for a disc player playing multichannel movie tracks, one can store their selected Source, Sound mode, Audyssey and Speaker settings with a long hold of the Quick Select 1 button. Selecting the “Auto” Sound Mode here for recall with Quick Select will result in a Straight decode of various Dolby and DTS signals.
If one also likes their Front speakers played at Full Band with bass complimented by the subwoofer using the LFE+Main setting when selecting Direct or Stereo mode with two channel music signals, the settings can be stored in Quick Select 2, 3 or 4 as well.
The 2CH Playback Speaker and Subwoofer settings must be made manually or will copy the Main Speaker and Subwoofer settings by default. The manual settings will apply to all devices outputting two channel analog or digital signals.
HEOS has a couple of preset options of its own as well when using it for music playback.
