Howdy,

My Denon AVR-X1000 says it accepts Coaxial input from the TV, but the adapter on the back of the system which I'm supposed to plug the coaxial cable into is an RCA female jack. Is there an adapter or something I'm supposed to have or buy? Am I missing something?

Are you trying to plug in a a F type coaxial into rca coaxial digital audio input?

The naming convention is a little confusing. That's an understandable rookie mistake.

Your AVR doesn't have a cable TV tuner. It can't change channels. The coax input is for digital audio only, not for CATV cable. You still run the cable / satellite TV coax cable from the wall to your provider's tuner / DVR box. Then you run the audio output from your tuner into your Denon X1000 either with an optical cable like this, or with a digital coax RCA cable like this one. The coax input on your receiver is for that RCA cable.
