I have been waiting for news on this item and just found it. I figured some of you would like to know.

I found it at AVClubhouse.com

It looks like a 4308 with added features and two more amps.

It is now available on their website. No HDMI 1,4!

No independent setup of the 3 sub outs like the 5308, all 3 receive the same signal.:( Only digital 2-channel PCM can be passed to the extra zones when input via coax/optical, NOT HDMI! Don't know that these are deal breakers for me, but they might have been nice. This unit is definitely feature packed.

Thanks for the info.

Dang, I was really hoping and honestly expecting the independent sub setup would be available. It doesn't make it a 9.3 receiver in my eyes if the .3 is actually just .1 split into 3, which I could do myself. This might actually be a deal breaker for me...

It doesn't surprise me about the lack of HDMI 1.4 (don't care), but I am disappointed about the inability to pass audio to the second and third zones via HDMI. At least it will do the coax/optical, something most AVRs still don't do.

EDIT: After thinking about it a bit, the lack of sub management is definitely a deal breaker for me. I am pretty bummed about it. I will save my $1k and go with the AVR-4310CI, just as I did between the 3808 and the 4308! I may even take an adventure over to another brand if that feature is available, despite being happy with all my Denon products over the years...

...and since Denon didn't feel like showing up to CEDIA, I don't have any idea if or when we will hear about this rumored AVP-CIX 4310-based pre/pro.

Maybe it is time for me to start looking more at the upcoming Onkyo pre/pros and ignore my Onkyo quality control and customer service trepidations...

The Onkyo/Integra pre/pro & receiver 3/5007 manuals are available: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58569

They do offer independent distance, level, and eqing for 2 subs.

The one feature of the 4810 that I like is the fully assignable amps. The Onkyo receivers don't offer it, although if I went with pre/pro that would be moot but I'd have to invest in more amps.

I would stay away from that site. First, the price is too low by $1k, and second the description talks about the 4310.

Looks like we won't be seeing the AVP-CIX for a long time. Someone over at AVS claims to have emailed the product development types at Denon and that particular project is apparently on hold/delayed till at least next summer. :(

The more and more I read about the Onkyo/Integra pre-pros the more I worry about poor customer service and quality control. Maybe the 4810 isn't looking so bad after all, and I definitely agree that the assignable amps feature is pretty dang cool...

That's fine, maybe they'll rethink the design to get ahead of Onkyo/Integra. It was too watered down for me. Something like the 48## series with the sub management of the 5308 would be sweet!

Definitely - and my guess was that it will turn out that way. There probably wouldn't be any other reason to delay it other than to make sure it can compete with the 5507/80.1.
